Choose Faith over Fear

By Gabrielle Santiago

We ๐’…๐’๐’โ€™๐’• ๐’‰๐’‚๐’—๐’† ๐’•๐’ ๐’˜๐’‚๐’Š๐’• for perfect conditions to have no fear. When we seek God in the midst of our darkest valley, we will be This is the time to choose faith over fear.

With the Coronavirus still happening, I have been seeing many of my friends and loved ones losing their jobs and not knowing where their next income will come from. When we go online and see no good news but constant precautions and worsening numbers, we can easily give in to fear.

“When will the coronavirus end? What if I have to stay home longer than this month and have to go through another month of no income? What if my loved one or myself get sick?”

The questions of fear can go on and on in the midst of the unknown. However, in the midst of uncertainty, we must hold on to Jesus.

The only certainty we can hold on to is Jesus and His love for us.

Though you may feel abandoned during this time, know that Jesus hasn’t left you. He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.โ€

Though your future is uncertain, it’s never uncertain to God. Cling to Him and He will take you where you need to be to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Continue to fix your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). When we remember that God is with us and that He has plans to prosper us and not to harm us, we can rest assure that our darkest valley ๐’˜๐’๐’โ€™๐’• ๐’๐’‚๐’”๐’• ๐’‡๐’๐’“๐’†๐’—๐’†๐’“.

This is the time to connect with God and renew your mind with His word and truth. We must quiet our fears and what ifโ€™s and ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ž๐š๐ค Godโ€™s promises out loud.

Psalm 91:9-13 says, “โ€ญโ€ญIf you say, โ€œThe Lord is my refuge,โ€ and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.โ€

There is a condition to receiving the promises of Psalm 91 and it is if we say the Lord is our refuge and make Him our dwelling place. To say the Lord is our refuge is to walk in faith.

When we give in to fear, we are giving our situation to the enemy. However, if we give in to faith, we allow God to be sovereign over our lives.  It is faith in God that will protect us from all harm. By faith, no harm will overtake us and that no disaster will come near our bodies.

Faith is what will change our circumstances. We don’t have to wait for statistics to say things are better to believe that things will get better. Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:11 says, “And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.” It was through faith that Sarah was able to see the promises of God come to pass. This is the time to walk in faith and believe God to bring breakthrough over your life. Allow faith to reign over your fear.

Will you put away your fears and choose to put your faith in God despite what you see?

Invite God to show you His perspective. We have the opportunity to partner with God to see the impossible be made possible. Choose to speak life and use the power and authority that God has given you to trample over the enemy. So remember, choose faith over fear.
