CAN YOU HELP?

Theme park industry employees spend their time serving others but have no one to serve them.

As followers of Jesus, we believe that every person deserves to be seen. Every one of the 100,000+ Orlando theme park employees has been created with a purpose and for a purpose. God loves them. But, many struggle with living far from home, working off-hour shifts, and feel stuck in their lives.

It doesn’t matter if you have a little or a lot, partnering with The Gathering is easy.

There our four ways you can help:

FOUR WAYS TO HELP

The idea of serving the person who is paid to serve others is radical, but Christ-like.

WAY #1

Become a Ministry Partner

The Gathering is a non-profit organization that relies on the financial support of likeminded people, churches, and groups.

A person, family, or group that donates money to The Gathering is called a Ministry Partner. We rely on people like you to help us do what we do.

When you financially support The Gathering, you join a passionate and determined group on a mission to reach the 100,000+ people that work in the theme park industry.

WHAT YOU'D DO:

  • Donate with a one-time gift or give a monthly, reoccurring gift.
  • Become a private donor. We rely on donor partners to cover our operating and advertising costs. The more theme park employees that know what we do, the more we can help.
  • Pray for specific people, events, and for our ministry as a whole.

WAY #2

Volunteer to Serve as a Guide

Become a volunteer Guide and use your gifts and talents to help those who work in the theme park industry. Even a few hours a month can help change a life.

WHAT YOU'D DO:

  • Help match individuals and families to churches, counseling centers, financial assistance, continuing education opportunities, and other organizations that understand the complexities of working in the theme park industry.
  • Listen to theme park employees, letting them know about The Gathering’s get-togethers, and connecting them with our network of organizations who understand their unique needs.
  • Specifically serve the theme park employees who are temporarily in the United States. If you speak French, Spanish, German, Japanese, or Norwegian, or most importantly Chinese or Arabic, consider becoming a country-focused Guide.
  • Grow in your personal faith by becoming more like Jesus.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Share the same values as The Gathering
  • Live in or spend pockets of time in the Orlando-area
  • Have a few hours a month to impact someone's life

WAY #3

Become a host family for a Home Group

Throughout the Orlando area, we have groups who regularly gather in private homes to learn more about Jesus. But, to serve more theme park employees, we need more locations and more times.

We are always looking for great host families to host a Home Group at their home. They can be hosted any day of the week at any time, up to TWO times a Month. This is determined by the needs of the theme park employees and their families that live around the host family.

WHAT YOU'D DO:

  • Open up your home, business, or other space for employees of theme parks to gather, conduct a Bible Study, or spend time together.
  • Lead the group or choose not too. You don’t have to lead a Bible Study! If you have the gift of hospitality, we can still use your gift.
  • Plan get-togethers and/or meet-ups to build community on alternative weeks.
  • Participate in Love on Stage while visiting the parks and resorts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Share the same values as The Gathering
  • Meet leadership requirements
  • Have a home, business, or other space in the Orlando metro-area
  • Be able to host Home Groups regularly or even once-in-a-while

WAY #4

Serve theme park employees while they work through Love on Stage

We believe park guests are one of the most effective ways to reach the 100,000+ people that work at theme parks in the Orlando area.

It’s why we created Love on Stage, the outreach arm of The Gathering. Volunteers create connections with employees, opening the door for The Gathering to come along side them, helping them navigate the complexities of life.

WHAT YOU'D DO:

  • Visit a theme park and create a connection with an employee. A connection is any act of love, service, or kindness and doesn’t interfere with your trip in any way.
  • Act on behalf of The Gathering, as it allows for us to be seen as meeting the needs of our community. Later, when the theme park employee has a need, they are already familiar with what local organization can best help them.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Share the same values as The Gathering
  • Meet leadership requirements
  • Visit a theme park, as a season pass holder or park visitor
  • Show kindness and love
